Younger adults with MS living in Long Term Care

Centre for Independent Living Toronto

Younger adults with MS living in Long Term Care facilities (nursing homes) has long been a concern for the MS Society of Canada and, of Ontario Division.  It has been a focus MS Society advocacy in Durham Region for the past 8 years. And it is still a problem.  If you or someone you know with MS, or any other neurological disease for that matter, has been told that you must move into an LTC facility, please contact client services at 905-668-0530. We can provide you with information on various attendant care organizations many of which are funded by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care. These along with CCACs which receive funding from CE_LHIN may allow you to remain in your current residence for as long as possible even though you are not a senior. To explore further check out on the Centre for Independent Living Toronto website which covers the GTA.
